drama in sport

The last four days I’ve been watching The Masters golf tournament and I’ve been reminded at how much drama there is in sports. The media made so much of Tiger Woods ‘indiscretions’. How would he react? The other players had to put up with questions about him. When the tournament finally started the drama within the game started. There were two players on the senior tour contending when they really had no business doing so. There were remarkable shots that went in. Finally the winner Phil Mickelson whose wife and mother are battling breast cancer manages to pull it out. He hugs his wife greenside after the tournament with tears streaming down his face. Those are the stories sport presents us with. Congratulations Phil and blessings to your family.

I can think of some interesting ideas of tying the drama of sport to the English classroom. I wonder where I can find more examples of how its done?
